In 2002, Disney released a small, weird movie about a lonely Hawaiian girl who adopts a "dog" from an animal shelter that turns out to be Experiment 626, an alien built for chaos. It had Elvis songs, a family that was barely holding together and the line about "ohana" that people still get tattooed on their ankles. Then in 2025 the live-action remake came out and made more than a billion dollars at the box office, and suddenly Stitch was everywhere again: on backpacks, on Crocs charms, on half the phone cases in any mall kiosk. For Halloween, Lilo and Stitch make one of the sweetest duo costumes you can pick, for couples, best friends or a parent and kid. That puts the pair at $139.98 in most sizes. It's not cheap, but one of those costumes is basically a wearable blanket with ears, so you're getting some of the value back in coziness on a cold October night.

The two costumes are very different. Stitch is a full plush jumpsuit with a hood, hand covers and shoe covers. Lilo is just a dress and a hair clip. Both have a handful of reviews, and all of them are five stars, which is rare enough to be worth a closer look. So here's what's in the box, how they fit, and what buyers said.

Stitch, from ears to claws

The Deluxe Stitch costume (item FUN7356AD) is a Made By Us exclusive and officially licensed by Disney. It comes with three pieces: a hooded jumpsuit, a pair of hand covers and a pair of shoe covers. Everything is 100% polyester.

The jumpsuit is made of cuddle plush and has a center front zipper, with what the listing calls "luxe cuddle plush fabric on the belly," which is the lighter blue patch on Stitch's chest. There's an embroidered minky patch on the back and a fiber-filled tail sewn on. It has a soft knit lining, which matters for comfort. Anyone who's worn a cheap plush costume knows the scratchy-inside problem.

The hood is where most of the character lives. It has embroidered eyes, faux hair on top, a fiber-filled nose with embroidered details and plush teeth around the face opening. And the ears are posable, with wire inside, so you can set them straight up, droop them down or do the one-up-one-down thing Stitch does when he's being extra suspicious. The hand covers have rib knit cuffs at the wrist, embroidered cuddle plush palms and claws. The shoe covers go over your own shoes and have rib knit ankle cuffs, poly knit lining, plush claws and elastic bands to keep them in place. You don't need to buy blue shoes, which is a relief, since blue shoes are not something most people keep around.

The listing invites you to "embrace your inner mischief-maker" and step into the "paws" of "the lovable blue alien experiment." Fair enough. It doesn't mention the part where Stitch licks things, but you can choose your own level of accuracy.

How Stitch fits

Stitch comes in Small, Medium, Large and X-Large, all at $79.99. The size chart is very detailed and covers eight measurements.

The chest runs from 39 inches on the Small to 51 inches on the X-Large, going up 4 inches each size. The waist and hips are almost the same as the chest in every size, which tells you this is a roomy, straight-cut jumpsuit, not a fitted one. A Small, for example, is 39 inches at the chest, 38.5 at the waist and 39.5 at the hips. The torso measurement, which is the one that matters most for a jumpsuit, goes from 32.75 inches on the Small to 36.75 on the X-Large.

The inseam is 28.5 inches in every size, so taller people may find the legs a bit short. With shoe covers over your feet, though, it won't show much. The hand covers are 8 inches in every size, and the shoe covers are 12.5 inches on the Small and 13 on the rest.

For bigger sizes, there's a Plus Size Deluxe Disney Stitch Costume for $89.99, in sizes 2X to 5X, with chest measurements from 55 to 67 inches.

What Stitch buyers said

The standard Stitch costume has two reviews, both five stars, and they're both about the same two things: fit and softness.

Bunk, who's 6'3" and 200 pounds and bought an X-Large, titled the review "Comfortably Cute." "The perfect Stitch costume. I have tried a few others from different places before, but this is by far the best. Others either didn't fit well or the colors didn't seem quite right. This one is true to size and looks great, and is quite soft and cozy on top of all that."

That's a great sign for tall buyers. If the X-Large works on someone who's 6'3", the 28.5-inch inseam is probably less of a problem than it looks on paper.

The second review, titled "Perfectly Cozy," came from a parent. "We tried to save a bit of money and tried a few costumes before this one. Lilo, in her red dress

Lilo's costume (item FUN4777AD) is much simpler. It includes a dress and a hair clip, and that's it. The dress is 100% polyester jersey knit and pulls over your head, with no zipper or buttons. It's red with Lilo's tropical leaf print, the same pattern she wears in the movie.

The hair clip is a foam flower with a leaf, which you clip on the side like Lilo does. There's no wig included, so the dark, straight Lilo hair is up to you. If your hair is already dark and long, you're done. If not, a long black wig will do it.

The listing says this dress "runs true to size," and it's officially licensed and a FUN Costumes exclusive.

How Lilo fits

The Lilo dress comes in X-Small through X-Large. X-Small costs $69.99, and the other sizes are $59.99. There are only seven X-Small dresses left, so if that's your size, you may want to order sooner rather than later.

The measurements tell you it's a loose, relaxed shape, not a fitted dress. The Small, for example, has a 35.5-inch chest, a 36-inch waist and 40.5-inch hips. The waist is actually a little bigger than the chest in every size, which makes sense, since Lilo's dress in the movie is a simple, straight shift she runs around in. The X-Large has a 44-inch chest, a 44.5-inch waist and 49-inch hips.

The sleeves are short, 7 to 8 inches depending on the size. The length is long: 51.25 inches on the X-Small up to 54.25 inches on the X-Large. On most adults, that's somewhere around mid-calf to the ankle, which is very close to how Lilo wears it.

This is a comfortable, forgiving costume. You can wear it with sandals, flip-flops or sneakers, and the relaxed shape means there's no struggle with a zipper. It's also cool enough to wear if your Halloween is warm, which pairs nicely with your partner sweating it out in plush.
