Every Halloween party has the group that spent three weekends on a hand-sewn Lord of the Rings fellowship. And then there are the friends who walk in as pizza slices, get a laugh at the door and spend the rest of the night being able to sit down. Pizza costumes have been a quiet favorite for years because they need no explaining, fit almost anybody and work for one person, two or a whole family. HalloweenCostumes.com sells a surprising number of them, but the one to start with is its own Adult Precious Pizza Slice Costume, on sale for $29.99, down from $39.99.

Two slices for a couple come to $59.98. That's roughly what a large pie with extra toppings and a delivery tip costs on a Friday night once DoorDash has added all its little fees, so at least the math feels on theme.

The catch with pizza costumes isn't the price. It's that they're mostly one-size tunics made of foam, and the details matter more than you'd think: whether the print is on both sides, how the sides close and whether the thing actually fits someone taller than average. So this review looks at the Precious slice first, then at the other pizza options on the site, from a photo-printed slice to a pizza-and-cutter couples set.

A slice with both sides done

The Precious Pizza Slice (item FUN7057AD) is a Made By Us design from the store's FUN Costumes label. It's a single piece: a tunic made of sublimated jersey and foam, 100% polyester, with a padded crust along the top and elastic bands on the sides.

The print is the selling point. The listing promises "full-color printed graphics on the front and back," with pepperoni, olives, mushrooms and peppers, plus what it calls "some incredibly enthusiastic cheese stretch." Front and back is a bigger deal than it sounds. A lot of pizza costumes are only printed on the front, which looks fine in photos and slightly sad from behind, like a slice somebody flipped over on the plate.

The elastic side bands keep the tunic close to your body without ties or Velcro. There are arm openings, and the listing says the costume is lightweight, roomy and "easy to throw on over whatever you're wearing," including, in its words, "your emergency dance pants." It also folds up easily for storage, which is not something you can say about most foam costumes. Anyone who's tried to fit a giant foam hot dog into a closet knows the struggle.

How big is a slice?

The adult Precious slice comes in one Standard size. The measurements are simple: 29 inches across the shoulders and 37 inches long. That's a long tunic, long enough to hit somewhere around mid-thigh or the knee on most adults, and the 29-inch shoulder width means it should sit wide enough to look like a real slice rather than a narrow wedge.

Since the sides use elastic bands rather than a fixed seam, it should work across a pretty wide range of body types. If you're very tall, expect the tunic to sit higher on your legs. If you're petite, it may come down closer to the knees. Either way, it's a costume where the fit is more about looking right than fitting perfectly. Nobody expects a pizza slice to be tailored.

There are kid and toddler versions too, which makes this an easy family costume. The Kid's Precious Pizza Slice (item FUN7057CH) is $19.99, down from $29.99, with a 20½-inch shoulder width and a 29-inch length. The listing for the kids' version describes "melty cheese, pepperoni, mushrooms, olives, and a golden crust." The Toddler Precious Pizza Slice (item FUN7057TD) is also $19.99.

So a family of four, two adults, one kid and one toddler, would come to $99.96 for four matching slices. That's a whole pizza's worth of people, and it'll probably be the most-photographed group at the trick or treat.

The one review, and why it matters

The adult Precious slice has one review so far, a five-star one from a buyer named JN in September 2025, titled "Love it!"

"My son loves this pizza costume. Most pizza costumes are one side only. This one has pizza on front and back!"

It's just one review, and a short one. But it lands on exactly the detail that separates this costume from the others on the site. If you're comparing pizza costumes, the two-sided print is the thing to check first, and JN clearly did.

It also tells you the adult size worked for a son, though we don't know his age or height. For a teenager who's outgrown the kids' size, the Standard adult tunic sounds like a safe bet.

Finishing the slice

Because the costume is just a tunic, what you wear underneath does a lot of work. The listing's suggestions include Men's Plain Black Costume Pants for $14.99 and Adult Black Costume Combat Boots for $39.99 to $49.99. Black works because it disappears, and your slice becomes the only thing anyone notices. For a brighter look, yellow tights echo the cheese. The site sells Women's Yellow Opaque Footless Tights for $12.99 on its pizza costume page.

There are also a few fun extras. An Adult Pepperoni Pizza Mask costs $9.99, the Costume Companion Cheese Block Bag is $17.99, and a Trick or Cheese Treat Tote is $12.99. The page also suggests a Pizza Planet Costume Kit for $24.99, which is a nod to the Toy Story pizza place with the green aliens in the claw machine. It's not a pizza slice, but it makes a pretty funny pairing if one person in your group wants to be the restaurant.

You don't need any of it, though. Jeans, a T-shirt and sneakers under the slice will do fine. The whole appeal of a pizza costume is that it takes about thirty seconds to put on.

The other slice: Photoreal Pizza

The second slice on the site is the Photoreal Pizza Slice Costume for Adults (item FU110234), made by Fun World. It's also $29.99, and it's also a one-piece tunic, made of polyester fibers and polyurethane foam.

The difference is in the details. The Photoreal slice has "printed graphics of Pepperoni pizza on the front," and only on the front. It pulls over your head and closes with hook-and-loop on the back and fabric ties at each side. And Fun.com, one of HalloweenCostumes.com's sister stores, gives it a fit rating of "Runs Small," while listing it as one size fits most adults.

That makes it a less comfortable fit for bigger or taller people and a less convincing slice from behind. On the plus side, the photo-style print looks more like a real pizza than a cartoon one. Halloween Express, which also sells it, describes the costume as a "screen printed foam pizza slice with tie sides" and jokes that it "looks so good you could take a big bite!" The same listing also notes it "does not include crust," which is an odd thing to say about pizza, and carries a California Prop 65 warning about possible lead exposure, something to know if you're buying it for a younger wearer.

No reviews for the Photoreal slice on HalloweenCostumes.com, Fun.com or Halloween Express yet. For a group where everyone has to match, it's the weaker choice next to the Precious slice.

Toppings you can rearrange

If you want a pizza you can customize, the Adult Tasty Pizza Costume (item AM8409724) from Amscan is only $19.99. It's a pizza-shaped tunic with graphics on the front and back, plus three interchangeable toppings you can move around. One size fits most, with a 44-inch chest, a 39.5-inch waist and a listed fit for people up to 5'11" and 230 pounds.

The interchangeable toppings are a fun idea. You can argue about pineapple without buying a second costume. It's also the cheapest pizza costume on the site for adults. There are no reviews on it yet, either on HalloweenCostumes.com or Halloween.com.

For couples: pizza and the cutter

If you want a couples costume with a little more of a story than two matching slices, the Pepperoni Pizza and Pizza Cutter Couples Costume for Adults (item RA10322) by Rasta Imposta includes two foam tunics: one shaped like a pizza, the other like a pizza cutter. It's on sale for $54.99, down from $69.99, and there are only six left.

The pizza tunic is printed with cheese and pepperoni and has jersey knit on the back. It's big, with a 54-inch chest and 28-inch length, and it's standard size, one size fits most. The cutter tunic has a metallic silver top and a handle with "Pizza Me" printed on it, which is the kind of pun you'll either love or pretend not to notice. Both tunics go over any outfit.

At $54.99 for both, it costs about $5 less than two Precious slices. The trade-off is that the pizza side is a foam shape rather than a two-sided printed slice. It has no reviews yet.

Or bring the delivery guy

The last option is a classic pairing: one person as the pizza, one as the person bringing it. The Adult Pizza Delivery Guy Costume with Box (item EL453481), another FUN Costumes design, costs $39.99. It includes a shirt, a hat and a cardboard pizza box.

The shirt is stretchy jersey knit with a button closure and printed graphics front and back. The hat has an embroidered pizza on the front and a metal slide closure. The box is cardboard with printed graphics, which is nice because it can hold your phone, your keys and a real slice if the party runs late. It comes in X-Small through X-Large, with chest sizes from 34 to 48 inches.

Pair it with one Precious slice and you're at $69.98. Anyone who's watched the Domino's tracker say "out for delivery" for twenty minutes will appreciate the joke. There are no reviews for this one yet either.

Summary

The Adult Precious Pizza Slice is a cheap, easy one-piece foam tunic with a two-sided topping print, elastic sides and a padded crust, and it's the best-designed slice on the site. It has only one review, but that review is positive and points to the printed back as the reason. I'll admit I'm a little surprised more pizza costumes aren't printed on both sides. It seems like the most basic thing a slice should do. The Precious slice does, and that's enough to make it the one I'd pick.

Order early if you want matching slices, since stock tends to move around a lot in October. Throw them on over black clothes, grab a pepperoni mask if you want to go all out, and settle the pineapple debate before you walk in. Some arguments are older than Halloween itself.
