The Kids' Deluxe Stitch Costume Is a Warm, Wearable Hug. Here's How the Sizes Really Work
Some kids want to be the princess. Others want to be the small blue alien who bites, licks the windows and destroys a model of San Francisco for fun. Stitch, also known as Experiment 626, has been that second kind of hero since 2002, and the live-action Lilo & Stitch from 2025, which made more than a billion dollars worldwide, made sure a whole new group of kids knows exactly who he is. He's one of those characters who's both cute and slightly chaotic, which is pretty much the ideal costume for an 8-year-old. HalloweenCostumes.com sells a Deluxe Disney Stitch Costume for Kids under its FUN Costumes label for $69.99 to $79.99, depending on size.
That's on the higher end for a kids' costume, but this one is more than a printed onesie. It's a full plush suit with a hood, posable ears, a tail and covers for hands and feet.
The kids' version has one review so far, and it's five stars. The adult version of the same design has a couple more, including one from a parent whose 12-year-old wore it, and the site sells several other Stitch costumes for kids with very mixed reviews. So this review covers what's in the bag, how the sizes work, what parents have said and how it compares to the other Stitch options.
What's in the bag
The Kids' Deluxe Stitch costume (item FUN7356CH) is officially licensed and a Made By Us exclusive. It includes three pieces: a hooded jumpsuit, a pair of hand covers and a pair of shoe covers. Everything is 100% polyester, made with what the listing calls cuddle plush fabric.
The jumpsuit zips down the center front, which is a lot easier for kids than a back zipper, and makes bathroom breaks less of an emergency. The belly is "luxe cuddle plush," the lighter blue patch on Stitch's front. On the back, there's an embroidered minky patch and a fiber-filled tail.
The hood is where most of the Stitch comes from. It has a poly knit lining, embroidered eyes, faux hair on top, a fiber-filled nose and plush teeth around the face opening. The ears are posable, with wire inside, so your kid can set them straight up for "happy Stitch" or droop them down for "Stitch who just got told no more cookies."
The hand covers have rib knit cuffs at the wrist and embroidered cuddle plush palms and claws. The shoe covers have rib knit ankle cuffs and elastic bands that go under the feet, so they stay on over sneakers.
It's basically the same design as the adult Deluxe Stitch costume, scaled down for kids.
How the sizes work
The Deluxe Stitch for kids comes in five sizes, X-Small through X-Large, and the size chart is very detailed. Here's the catch with the pricing: X-Small, Small, Large and X-Large cost $69.99, but Medium costs $79.99.
A shopper asked about that in the Q&A, and the site's answer was: "Prices can vary between sizes based on available supply rather than just the amount of material used." So the middle size, probably the most popular one, costs more. It's worth checking the price on your size before checkout.
The chart lists child sizes for each costume size. X-Small fits kids' size 5-6, Small fits 7-8, Medium fits 10-12, Large fits 14 and X-Large fits 16. There's no height or weight listed, so you'll need to use your kid's clothing size and the measurements.
The chest runs from 28.5 inches on the X-Small to 39 inches on the X-Large, and the waist matches the chest in every size, which tells you it's a straight, roomy cut. The hips are just an inch bigger than the chest in each size.
The two numbers that matter most for a jumpsuit are torso and inseam. Torso runs from 21.25 inches on the X-Small to 28.5 inches on the X-Large. And the inseam grows a lot between sizes: 14.5 inches on the X-Small, 17 on the Small, 21 on the Medium, 25 on the Large and 29 on the X-Large.
That big jump between Small and Medium came up in the Q&A. A parent asked whether the Small's 17-inch inseam was right for 7- and 8-year-olds. The answer was that the torso and inseam together give about 40 inches of coverage, and to compare the chest and waist to your child's actual measurements. It also pointed out that the Medium has a 21-inch inseam "if your child is taller."
So here's the simple rule. If your kid is tall for their age, size up. A Stitch suit that's a little long can be rolled at the ankles or tucked into the shoe covers. A jumpsuit that's too short in the torso will pull every time your kid sits or bends, and that's the fastest way to have a cranky Stitch by the third house.
What parents said
The kids' Deluxe Stitch has one review, from Duane Thomas in November 2025. It's five stars, titled "Coming through last minute!"
"I ordered this costume for my daughter the week of Halloween. It arrived on time, was a great quality and fit well for a cold Halloween night of trick or treating. Ordered a XL for a 5'1 174lb (for size reference)."
That review is helpful in two ways. It gives a real height and weight for the X-Large, which the chart doesn't. And it confirms what you'd expect from a plush suit: it's warm. For cold-weather trick-or-treating, that's a big plus.
The adult version of the same costume has two reviews, both five stars, and one of them is from a parent too. "We tried to save a bit of money and tried a few costumes before this one. The quality is superior to anything out there and definitely worth the extra cost. Fit my 12 year old daughter perfectly and is made of the softest material." That reviewer listed a height of 5'4" and 95 pounds. So if your kid is tall and slim and has outgrown the kids' sizes, the adult version is an option.
The other adult reviewer, Bunk, who's 6'3", said, "This one is true to size and looks great, and is quite soft and cozy on top of all that." Same design, same fabric, and both adults called it soft.
Keeping Stitch comfortable
Plush is warm, which is great for cold nights and less great for a crowded school party. The good news is that the hood comes down, the hand covers slip off and the front zipper makes it easy to cool down. A T-shirt and shorts underneath instead of jeans make a big difference if it's a warm night.
The hand covers are the part kids usually want off first. They're great for photos, but they make it hard to hold a candy bag or a phone, or open a wrapper. Plan on them coming off after the first few houses.
And keep an eye on the length. If you size up and the legs are long, make sure they're tucked into the shoe covers so they don't drag or trip anyone on the stairs.
Other Stitch options for kids
The site sells a lot of Stitch costumes, and they're not all equal. Here's how the main ones compare.
The Disney Lilo & Stitch Alien Stitch Costume for Kids costs $79.99 to $89.99. It's a cuddle plush jumpsuit with fiber-filled antennae, an embroidered hood, soft-sculpted ears and an extra set of "fiber filled arms sewn on the sides by clear plastic wire" that move as your kid moves. That's Stitch in his four-armed alien form from the beginning of the movie. It's more unusual and a little more expensive. It has no reviews yet.
The Inflatable Kid's Stitch Costume by Disguise is $79.99, down from $89.99. It's a jumpsuit with a battery fan that needs four AA batteries, one size for kids up to about 14. It has five reviews and a 3.6-star average. David Ruiz said his 8-year-old daughter loved it: "she wanted to be stitch but all the costumes looked like pj's. Then this costume popped up and I had to get it." He added, "Multiple people told her it was the best costume they seen all night." But another parent, who bought it in August, found the fan stopped working on the night of a Trunk or Treat, and wrote, "I hope you try it out for a while and let the fan run for 30-40 minutes because that is how long it lasted for us." Good advice for any inflatable costume.
And then there's the Girl's Disney Lilo & Stitch Stitch Costume Dress, priced at $39.99 to $49.99. It's a velour hooded dress with tiered blue tulle and mitts. It's cheaper, but it has a 2-out-of-5 rating from six reviews, and the complaint is consistent: it runs small. One parent who ordered a Medium for a girl who usually wears a size 9 called it "tiny and short." Another said, "it does run small so I do suggest you size up!" If you choose the dress, size up at least one.
So for most kids, the Deluxe Stitch is the safest pick. Its review record is small but spotless, it has the most detail, and its fit has been confirmed on a real kid.
Younger siblings
If there's a little one in the house too, the site has Stitch costumes for babies and toddlers. The Toddler Disney Lilo & Stitch Stitch Costume is $34.99 to $39.99, and there's an Infant version at the same price. There are also toddler and infant Angel costumes, a Toddler Disney Scrump Costume for $39.99 and an Infant Disney Scrump Costume for $34.99. Scrump, if you don't remember, is Lilo's handmade doll with the button eyes, and a baby dressed as Scrump is very hard to beat.
For an older sibling who wants to be Lilo, there's a Girl's Deluxe Disney Lilo Costume for $49.99.
What to add
The Deluxe Stitch is complete on its own, but the site has a few extras that kids love. The Stitch Costume Companion is a plush Stitch to carry for $24.99, which is very cute if your kid is going as Lilo. The Scrump Costume Companion is also $24.99. For friends who want to join the Stitch crew without a full costume, there's an Angel Costume Headband for $19.99, a Lilo Headband & Cuffs Kit for $19.99, a Stitch Fuzzy Costume Cap for $9.99 and even a Disney Pleakley Headband for $16.99, for the one-eyed alien expert from the movie.
Summary
The Kids' Deluxe Disney Stitch costume is a cuddle plush jumpsuit with a detailed hood, posable ears, a tail and hand and shoe covers, for $69.99 to $79.99. Its one review is five stars and praises the quality and warmth, and the adult version of the same design has five-star reviews too, including one from a parent whose 12-year-old wore it. The inseam jumps a lot between sizes, so size up for tall kids. Compared with the site's other Stitch costumes, it's the most reliable pick.
So, is it worth it?
For most families, yes. It costs more than a basic printed costume, but you're getting a plush suit that looks like the real Stitch and keeps your kid warm on a cold night. It's also the kind of costume that tends to get worn again, for pajama days, movie nights or random Tuesday afternoons, which helps the price make sense.
I'll admit I was a little surprised by how much the other kids' Stitch costumes vary. The dress gets mostly one-star reviews for sizing, and the inflatable has a fan problem. That makes the Deluxe Stitch look even better by comparison.
So measure your kid's torso and height, and size up if they're tall. Check the price on your size, since the Medium costs more. Test the zipper and the ears when it arrives, and let them wear it around the house for a bit first. Then be ready for a night of your kid insisting they're a dog, licking things they shouldn't and calling everyone "ohana." That's pretty much what Stitch would do.
