The release of Helldivers 2 on Steam has marked the largest launch for a PlayStation game on the platform to date

Helldivers 2 has surpassed all previous Playstation titles on Steam, amassing more than 150,000 simultaneous PC players over the weekend and setting a new record for the platform.

Previously, the record was held by Sony Santa Monica's God of War reboot, which peaked at 73,529 concurrent players. However, Helldiver 2 has now doubled that figure, reaching a peak of 155,926 users.

This achievement was reached despite some technical difficulties at launch that led to game crashes and matchmaking issues for some players.
